College & Career Information

The SAT will be offered Saturday, October 5th at Hermiston High School. The cost is $50.00 (if you need financial assistance there are fee waivers available--see Mrs. G for more information). If you are a college-bound senior and have not taken the SAT yet, now is the time! Regular registration closes September 6th and you can register at sat.collegeboard.org

If you did not get registered for the October 5th SAT by the deadline, it will be offered again on Saturday, November 2nd. You must go online and register by October 3rd.

The annual Northeast Oregon regional college fair will be held in the Hermiston High School commons from 6-8pm on Wednesday, October 9th. This is a great opportunity for Juniors and Seniors to meet with several admissions representatives to gather information and ask questions!

To successfully complete Senior Seminar requirements and adequately prepare for the Senior Project, Senior students must complete a total of 3 informational interviews and 3 job shadows throughout the course of the year.

Informational Interview #1 is due by Monday, October 14th.

What do I turn in to get credit for the informational interview? Your 25 questions (and answers/notes from interview) and a 1-2 page typed summary of what you learned. Make sure the contact information (name and phone number) for the individual you interviewed is listed somewhere on your paper.

Job Shadow #1 is due by Monday, October 14th.

What do I turn in to get credit for the job shadow? A two-page typed summary of your job shadowing experience (list the contact information for the individual you job shadowed somewhere on your paper please) and any notes, business cards, pictures, etc.that you may have. You are also expected to send a thank-you note to the individual who took time out of their day to let you observe them.

If you need any assistance in setting up your job shadows or informational interviews PLEASE ASK!
